Free the people of Cowlitz County

Below is a resolution that I am working to submit at a hearing, but for it to pass, it will need strong support from the people. I'll cross post it on Facebook.


Yes, it is controversial but destroying the county (and state and country) is not a sensible solution to any problem.


BEFORE THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF

COWLITZ COUNTY, WASHINGTON

RECOGNIZING THAT THE PEOPLE OF COWLITZ )

COUNTY ARE BEING DESTROYED )

ECONOMICALLY AND SPIRITUALLY BY THE ) NO._________________

UNLAWFUL ENFORCEMENT OF )

EXECUTIVE SUGGESTIONS, THE BOARD OF )

COUNTY COMMISSIONERS DECLARES THAT )

BUSINESS AND SOCIAL ACTIVITIES MAY )

RESUME IMMEDIATELY. )

WHEREAS, the elected office holders in Cowlitz County swear an oath to uphold the US and State Constitutions; and

WHEREAS, there is no Constitutional authority to restrict individual unalienable rights; and

WHEREAS, a fundamental requirement of good government is first to do no harm; and

WHEREAS, the board of County Commissioners are tasked with protecting the citizens of the county from unreasonable orders and government overreach; and

WHEREAS, there is strong evidence that treatment for the disease, Covid-19, is available and effective at low cost and low risk; and

WHEREAS, the death rate of Covid-19 is less than that of many other causes of death; and

WHEREAS, the documented course of action of other nations has shown that a lock down approach is not a cost effective approach to control Covid-19; and

WHEREAS, the current state mandated restrictions have been shown to take a heavy spiritual toll; and

WHEREAS, the people are being denied access to proper education, for which they have paid and continue to pay via taxes; and

WHEREAS, in CASE NO. C20-5423 BHS (UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT WESTERN DISTRICT OF WASHINGTON AT TACOMA), “federal courts have jurisdiction over suits against state officers to enjoin official actions that violate federal law, even if the state itself is immune from suit under the Eleventh Amendment;” and

WHEREAS, in CASE NO. C20-5423 BHS (UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT WESTERN DISTRICT OF WASHINGTON AT TACOMA), “Governor Inslee argues that the Court lacks jurisdiction to consider the claims against him because he does not have any connection with the enforcement of the Proclamations;” and

WHEREAS, the Covid pandemic proclamations by the Governor have been adjudicated not to be law consequently are not enforceable, and officials and agencies who impose mandates are doing so arbitrarily; and

WHEREAS, the Covid pandemic proclamations by the Governor have been pursued in a non-uniform, unequal, and arbitrary manner; and

WHEREAS, the Covid pandemic proclamations by the Governor have led to the destruction of commerce, jobs, and livelihoods that threaten the individual and the county’s basic survival; and

WHEREAS, citizens have chosen voluntarily to follow sensible guidelines to mitigate the spread of the Covid virus; and

WHEREAS, the extant BOCC-declared Covid-19 emergency is primarily a bureaucratic effort to seek funding from the State and US Government

BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Cowlitz County that:

1. The BoCC supports the Constitutional rights of every citizen

2. Recognizing its limited powers and jurisdiction, the BoCC does not and will not support any regulations or governmental actions that violate the Constitutional rights of citizens.

3. The BoCC declares that Cowlitz County is no longer limited by the arbitrary phases of lock down and all businesses and organizations may resume operation immediately.

4. The BoCC encourages prudence by voluntary adoption of sensible practices to mitigate the spread of infection.
